apple picking...

apple season is upon us... and almost past us.  i've been picking several times and am super duper glad that i don't have to go again.  my lower back is killing me and it's been hard to watch remi and work at the same time, not to mention being very pregnant.
there's a place just outside of Spokane called Green Bluff where there is a large community of u-pick farms.  we went up there one weekend (our first apple picking foray) during their apple festival.  we stopped at one of the bigger guys (more money on advertising, kid rides, gift shop, etc) and endured the crowds for some peaches, as they were the only place that still had them, and tasted some yummy treats from their cafe (pumpkin donuts!).  we then went to one of the smaller guys who charge much less and picked some apples.
it was so nice having shawn there, so that i wasn't the only one trying to keep remi in line.  he has developed a habit that he must have learned from the deer - to take one bite out of every apple he sees and also to throw all the apples from the boxes on the ground.  maybe next year he'll be more helpful???
here's a bunch of pictures from that initial apple picking trip - enjoy!
