so... i just wanted to get a critique from everyone. i'm starting to work with oil paints and loving it! they mix great, they smear great and are just all around fun to work with. anyhow, i am just wondering what you think of these paintings. they are more "modern"/abstract art, which i was never really a fan of before but i'm really starting to like more and more (but still am very choosy on what i like). so what do you think? should i keep doing these or drop them? they might just look like kids paintings and i would never know unless i'm told that. it's that whole bias thing since i'm the one who painted them. i really appreciate your comments! :) i've mainly used variations of black and white but will get more colors going if i decide that it's worth it to keep going. and i'll probably use these as backgrounds and paint silhouettes on them. like a few small bird silhouettes flying or such...
and just a side comment, i didn't improve the colors in photoshop to make them as they naturally are, so the colors are what you get from bad indoor light. they really are much more vibrant than the pictures suggest.
